Kennedy, Makary vows to avoid political interference at CDER will be tested soon

When Richard Pazdur was appointed director of FDA’s CDER, he received explicit assurances from HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary that the center’s regulatory decisions would be insulated from political interference.

Those assurances will be put to the test quickly as Kennedy and Makary decide whether to move forward with ideological and political initiatives involving the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research that were launched before Pazdur’s appointment. ...
